Two member of the UK Iodine Group, Professor John Lazarus and Dr Sarah Bath, have been invited to join an ILSI Europe expert group on iodine. ILSI Europe bring together scientists from academia and industry and the public sector to identify and provide evidenced-based solutions to nutritional and food challenges. The Nutrient Intake Optimisation Task Force developed a new activity on the iodine content of main food sources of iodine, and relate intakes to current status and the expert group was formed.
The first meeting was in January 2017 and the project will run until 2018.
